If Tavern visits are a guild requirement, this isn't a good option. You won't be able to sit in Taverns of anyone not on your FL. And, many in your hood will aid back, too. For those of us with crazy work-life schedules that make routine collections a challenge, this can help preserve your resources til you can collect. If you have many, this will help you secure such buildings-if you have folks aiding often, too. If you don't have many plunder-ready buildings, this is minor. For every guildmate on your FL, you reduce your total potential for daily aid, because they can be aided from your guild listing, too. Once you leave the city, you cannot come back within 24 hours to plunder. The issue here is plunder should be immediately after attack. The issue here is not cannot attack and plunder. What good defense are you referring to? catapult against cannon? If your defense is able to chase the enemy away, you are already on par with them. I am not speaking this for myself only, but for those poor kids down at the bottom. Obviously you all have been plundering so much that you don't need to build your own manufacturer.
